Dongfeng Motor to launch Fengshen S30

Dongfeng Motor, an innovative Chinese Auto Company announced that they will launch own-developed Fengshen S30 sedan in this month.

From the Dongfeng Motor Corporation Passenger Vehicle Company we got that Fengshen S30, which is marked as an A-Class car will equips with an 1.6L engine and priced around 100, 000RMB(1USD=6.8RMB).

Zhengzhou Nissan to launch new MPV

The new MPV, codenamed C16A, can seat seven people and will be sold under Dongeng brand. The C16A will be powered by a 1.6L fuel engine and might be priced below 100,000 RMB(1 USD = 6.8RMB)

Meanwhile a C16A all-electric sedan is also being developed which can travel 150 km on a single charge. It can take a full charge in 5 hours.

Dongfeng KIA to launch new Forte in June

As KIA’s new compact car, the new Forte has identified formally to list in June, now Forte is recuiting a Chinese name, the highest award is one year free right to use Forte.

The new Forte will equip with 1.6L and 2.0L engine, the Overseas Edition of Forte 1.6L engine’s maximum power is121 hp while 2.0L engine’s maximum power is 156 hp. In addition, the overseas Forte model also comes with five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, while the high-end models can also provide a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission Sportmatic. Forte safety equipment including side curtain airbags, ABS, traction control and tire pressure monitoring systems, and so on.

Dongfeng Fengshen to show off at Shanghai auto show

Recently, Dongfeng Motor announced its own brand “Dongfeng Aeolus” (Dongfeng Fengshen) will show off on the coming Shanghai auto show this April. The first model is a 1.6L displacement compact car, 4.5 meters long and priced between 100,000RMB and 80, 000RMB (1USD= 6.8RMB). Dongfeng Fengshen was designed by the world famous car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and built by Dongfeng Technology Center & IDG(Italia).

Geely and Dongfeng denied bidding for GM Saab

Geely and Dongfeng said on Wednesday that they have not held any talks over a possible bid for General Motors’ Saab brand, reported by Reuters.

A Dongfeng spokesman added he was unaware of any interest by his company in bidding for the Saab brand. And a senior Geely executive, when asked about his company’s possible acquisition of Saab or other brands, told reporters: “No, we did not. We’re not interested in Saab or the other brands out there.”

Sources with direct knowledge of the process told Reuters on Tuesday that the Saab brand of GM had received interest from several potential bidders, including Geely and Dongfeng.

Media reports have also said Geely was in preliminary talks with Ford Motor about the sale of the U.S. automaker’s Volvo car unit, although a Geely spokesman said yesterday they had no plans to buy Volvo.

So are Geely after Volvo, or is it SAAB today, or perhaps both?

Dongfeng to launch Peugeot 207 hatchback on mid March

Dongfeng Peugeot 207 sedan launched at the end of last year, not for long, the Peugeot 207 hatchback model is planned to launch on mid-March, listed as first on Dongfeng Peugeot sedan, the hatchback version pushed the “3 +2″ strategy of another embodiment of Peugeot 207 hatchback cars will further strengthen the Dongfeng Peugeot cars in a small market. It is learned that the 207 hatchback version has no more changes in the configuration models, interior trim, displacement, etc. But pricing would be less, might between 70, 000RMB and 100, 000RMB (1USD = 6.8RMB).

Breaking: Chang’an and Dongfeng to bid for Ford Volvo

Three interested companies may place indicative bids for Ford’s up-for-sale Swedish brand Volvo Cars in April, according to Swedish newspaper Dagens Industri (DI).

Reuters noted that DI quoted unnamed sources as saying that the three bidders include Chinese carmakers Dongfeng Motor Group and Chongqing Changan Automobile Co, and “a European constellation”.

“Indicative bids are to be expected around the Easter weekend,” the paper said. The expected purchase price for Volvo is believed to range between SEK20bn ($2.29bn) and SEK25bn ($2.86bn), it reported.

The paper also said the European Investment Bank (EIB) was expected to grant Volvo a 5 billion Swedish crowns ($568 million) loan in the near future. Volvo applied for the loan last month.

Volvo Cars is a separate company from Gothenburg, Sweden-based Volvo AB, the world’s second-largest truck maker. Dongfeng Motor Corp is China’s third-biggest automaker while Changan Auto Group manufactures Volvo cars in China in a partnership with Ford.

Dongfeng coupe and another 3 new models to launch on Shanghai auto show

As one of the “Big Three” Chinese automakers, Dongfeng seems a bit slowly to launch new sedans, rely on Peugeot, Citroen, Nissan as joint ventures, but do nothing in owned-brand sedans, what may you think of it? Bad, very bad. However, this bad situation would change a bit since the new Dongfeng models are now coming.

1. Dongeng Coupe: The first Coupe from Dongfeng, looks like Porsche Cayman.

2. Dongfeng EQ7130: A micro hatchback. EQ7130 sized as Chery QQ and BYD F0, looks like Dongfeng Peugeot 206 hatchback.

3. Dongfeng A Class: Looks like Kreisler Sebring, sized as Chery A5 and BYD F3.

4. Dongfeng EQ7101: Even smaller than Xiali models, with an 1.0L discharge engine.

Lifan 320 – Lifan’s most (in)famous model
Chery S16/QQ5 – As known as “Chinese beetles“
FAW Toyota RAV4 – Once imported, now domestically made to go up against the Honda CRV, and the Qashqai
Dongfeng Citroen C5 (Fengshen)- The C5 is finally to be made in China, and possibly its Peugeot cousin.
BYD F5 – BYD’s new compact model
Shanghai VW NMS – (New Midsize Sedan) Another new sedan from Volkswagen.
