Spy Shots: FAW Toyota RAV4 out testing in Zhuhai

With the launch date of FAW Toyota RAV4 approaching, the information of RV4 is also increasing. Recently, some enthusiasm readers found Toyota RAV4 out testing near a racetrack in Zhuhai, Guangdong provicne. From the spy photo we should notice that it must be the final version to be launched.

The China-made TOYOTA RAV4 will equips the TOYOTA CAMRY 2.0L/2.4L engine, automatic and manual versions both available.

Campared with the imported TOYOTA RAV4, the China-made RAV4 doesn’t equip the CAMRY2.5L engine, but plus a manual transmission.

FAW to launch 2.5L Mazda6 soon

Reported by Xinhua, FAW is set to launch three 2.5L versions of the second-generation Mazda6 on April 12 and priced about $29,300.

Revamped from the previous mazda6 that will continue its production, the new Mazda6 has many upgrades in its exterior design, craftsmanship, performance, and even its name. In early September 2008, Mazda announced the new Mazda6′s Chinese name Ruiyi (“Wise Wing”) for the Chinese market.

Offering plenty of Mazda’s trade-mark “Zoom Zoom” concept, Ruiyi inherits the first generation Mazda 6′s sporty performance and high-tech features and also combines convenience, safety, with eco-friendliness together.

FAW Volkswagen to produce Audi Q5 SUV

Sources from FAW Volkswagen Audi Group, Audi Q5 SUV will be produced in China by October, Q5 will be be the third model produced in China following by A4 and A6.

The production starting time was confirmed in October. Audi insiders said that Audi will imports a number of Q5 models for domestic sales before it come to production. Q5 is the second Audi SUV after the Q7, size small than the Q7, positioning in the high-end medium-sized SUV, the biggest competitor is BMW X3.

FAW to launch Red Flag HQE in September

Recently, sources revealed that FAW to launch domestic autonomy limousine Red Flag(Hongqi) HQE  in September this year, its first mission is used as President Hu Jintao’s parade car in the coming 60th national day anniversary celebration.

Although Red Flag is also a Chinese Own brand, but mostly its different from Chery, Geely or some else. Red Flag cars are more representative of the country’s image, also speaking for the Chinese people’s deep feelings.

But over the past decade,  Red Flag entered a confused period, constant at imitating others: Audi version of Red Flag Mingshi / 18, Lincoln version of Red Flag flagship , Toyota version of Red Flag HQ3, and these cars in the market’s performance is not good. Debuted as a concept car on 2005 Shanghai Auto Show, the Red HQE gave people a glimmer of hope, the front side of the middle of the red flag seems to show at China’s autonomous industries. Now, this super limousine is about to launch,  we expected!

First Auto Works rolled off Besturn B50 yesterday

The long-awaited Besturn B50 sedan model of FAW Car Co., a subsidiary of FAW Group, rolled off the production line in Changchun today. It is the second model of the FAW Besturn brand, after the 2009 Besturn B70. The Besturn B50 will go on sale by early May.

Last April, the Besturn B50 made its debut at the 2008 Beijing auto show. It is based on the previous generation Mazda6 platform, and equipped with a 1.6L gasoline engine with peak power of 76/6000 (kW/rpm), available with manual and automatic transmissions.

The Besturn B50 stands on a modified Mazda 6 chassis, as FAW and Mazda produce the Mazda 6 in their joint venture operation. A hybrid version of the Besturn B50 is expected to be available later.

Since FAW manufactures in China the Prius on behalf of Toyota, surely a hybrid engine will be a natural next step for FAW Group, who has seen Besturn as one of its own brands, like the HQ (Red Flag) brand.

The Besturn B50 will be delivered to the market in late April or early May this year, at a price between 110,000 yuan ($16,100) and 150,000 yuan.

Almost no changes in shape/appearance

For the design of Golf 6th, different people has different views, but most guys believe that the design concept “back to classic ” is very successful. Compare to the rounded shape of Golf 5th, Golf 6th appears to be more vigorous and powerful indeed.

And this time, the Golf 6th has no more changes in shape other than adds the words “FAW Volkswagen” in the buttocks.

From the early spy photos we can easily find that Golf 6th used the Sagitar 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

Spy photo: Volkswagen Golf 6th generation

The 6th generation Volkswagen Golf (Golf 6th) to launch on September, now Golf 6th is under Testing-Production on the FAW Volkswagen production line, the spy photo from our warmhearted reader approved that Golf 6th is now in formal production.

From the spy photo we can see that the China-made Golf 6th is very similiar with the foreign version both in shapes and details.

Besides, we got information from the FAW Volkswagen principal that Golf 6th autopilot will equip the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox.

FAW Red Flag SUV to produce in 2010

Red Flag SUV was totally designed by Red Flag itself and evoked strong repercussion by its first show off on 08′ Beijing Auto Show.

Though Red Flag SUV encountered some frustrations after its birth, Red Flag was never stop its steps to optimize and reconstruct the marketing network and redefined the new product. It’s reported that Red Flag SUV will come to production in 2010 and release by the year end.
