Lifan’s mini car, Lifan 320 to show off on the coming Shanghai auto show, looks like BMW mini?
In 2009, Hainan Mazda will launch 3 new models: new Mazda MPV that based on PREMACY, Mazda C71 and a new Mazda SUV. The mini car, Mazda C71 should attract us more.
By reported, the Hainan Mazda C71 equips 1.3L and 1.5L engine made by Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi Engine Co and measures(LxWxH) 3890 x 1695 x 1480.
Compare to the Mazda 2 hatchback, the Hainan Mazda C71 will pricing between 70, 000RMB and 90, 000RMB by eastimated.
According to Xinhua, Great Wall Motor recently saw its Hover CUV model rolling out of its assembly plant in Vietnam and going to the local market.
Located in Nam Dinh City, the plant is jointly established earlier this year by Vietnamese company Duc Phong and Great Wall Motor to produces Hover and Cowry (an MPV model of Great Wall) for sale in the local market.
Duc Phong takes charge of production and marketing of the joint venture while Great Wall Motor mainly provides technologies and auto parts. The plant has an annual capacity of 3,000 cars.
Duc Phong is the second assembly plant Great Wall Motor operates in Vietnam and it has 44 sales outlets around the country bordering southwestern China.
Since it stepped in Vietnam in 2005, Great Wall Motor has spent four years in market development and now holds a considerable market share there.

After more than 10 years of rapid growth, GWM has accumulated enormous economic capacity, becoming the number one taxpayer consecutively for three years in the City of Baoding. GWM took its first step to become a truly global company by exporting CUVs to the competitive European market in September 2006. GWM already sells cars in about 60 (mostly developing) countries and exports account for about a third of the company’s sales.

Beijing Automotive Industry Co. (BAIC) today denied media reports it has been talking to Chrysler LLC about purchasing certain assets or technology.
A report appeared in the Chinese Business News, which cited an unnamed Beijing Auto executive as its source, said BAIC was interested in buying some of Chrysler’s manufacturing facilities as was looking to the Beijing city government for financial support.
Chrysler was part of a joint car venture between BAIC and DaimlerChrysler, but pulled out of the agreement after Daimler sold Chrysler to Cerberus in 2007. The Chrysler 300C sedan is still made at the venture.
In December, Chinese newspaper Securities Daily reported that Anhui-based Chery was going to buy assets from Chrysler for its overseas expansion, backed by a 10 billion yuan ($1.46 billion) loan from the Export-Import Bank of China. Both Chery and Chrysler denied the rumor.

Beijing Automotive Industry Co, a Chinese automaker, the parent of truck-maker Beiqi Foton Motor Co and Chinese partner of Hyundai Motor and Daimler AG, is interested in buying some of Chrysler’s vehicle and engine manufacturing facilities as well as technology to help boost its development of its own brand of automobiles.
Although talks are on going between the two auto makers, it seems that BAW are feeling confident about their planned purchases.

February 16th, the pure electric car “Chery NN” was first produced on Chery’s Wuhu factory.
On 2008 Beijing auto show, we’ve seen the hatchback version of Chery NN, but it is not launch yet.
Chery NN was officially named “Chery S18″, it has a top speed of 120 km/h ~ 150km/h and can be fully charged at a home electrical outlet within 4-6 hours and 80% charged in half an hour.
As a leader in China’s own-brand vehicle making, Chery started developing electric car models in 2001. Chery has undertaken the country’s many projects of new-energy vehicle since 2004 when a national technical center of energy-efficient, eco-friendly cars was set up in Chery.

According to Chery’s blueprints, the Chery Riich brand will rival Audi and will also follow Audi’s model series to include sedan, hatchback, crossover and SUV models. The Riich car models to be launched this year may be priced between 100,000 yuan ($14,700) and 200,000 yuan. These luxury cars are expected to have Chinese officials as the target consumers.
