Great Wall’s secret car “GWKulla” to show off on Shanghai Auto Show

Sources from the manufactror, Great Wall Moto will debut 12 new models and 3 engines on April’s Shanghai Auto Show. The inner personnel said there are 5 in the 12 new models that never publish on market before, the new energy electric car “GWKulla” must be one of the 5. The new “GWKulla” has been much defferent from the one debuted on the Beijing Auto Show  , shapes and performance are totally different, so somebody call it “GWKulla 2″.

The Great Wall enginneer disclose that GWKulla is totally a light-weight pure electric car with 4 door – 4 seat design and runs on lithium-ion battery power, 10 degrees electric energy consumption per 100 km.

Spy photo: BYD G3, to launch on August?

Today, we got a spy photo of BYD’s new car: BYD G3. From the only spy photo, a “totally new but seems similiar” design happen  on BYD’s new car again.

The tail design of G3 reminds me, itsn’t it looks like Lexus ES350? Oh, but who knows, how about the front-end design?

Sources reported that G3 positioned as a compact car and will launch on August, compare to F3, G3 is more advanced, thus the price will higher than F3 by no doubt.

JAC to debut B18 at Shanghai Auto Show

JAC will launch a new compact car to consummate its procuction series, and JAC B18 must be the one. B18 will debut on April’s Shanghai Auto Show, the first show was on the 2008 Beijing Auto Show and raised much concrens then. Spy photos: Zhengzhou Nissan MPV on production

Sources reported that Zhengzhou Nissan will  launch new MPV and will debut it on the coming Shanghai Auto Show, besides, we got the latest spy photos of this new comer.

The new model is positioned as a mini MPV and based on the Nissan Serena. In 2009, Zhengzhou Nissan will launch 3 new models including Nissan Cabstar, Dongfeng Economic MPV and Nissan Intelligentize SUV.

Geely acquired Australian parts supplier DSI yesterday

By Reuters report, Geely said on Friday it had acquired Australian automatic transmission supplier Drivetrain Systems International (DSI).

Under the agreement, Geely will help fund DSI’s research and development capacity and maintain its leading position in the global automatic transmission market, the Chinese firm said in a statement.

DSI, with an annual capacity of 180,000 automatic transmission systems, supplies parts to Ford Motor and Ssangyong Motor Co.

But the Australian company entered bankruptcy proceedings in February as the global industry downturn weighed on some of its clients, Geely said in the statement.

No financial details of the transaction were provided.

Geely, which is trying to shake off its image as a purveyor of low-priced cars, is one of several ambitious Chinese automakers keen on expanding into developed markets.

Brilliance electric car and 3 new models to show off at April Shanghai auto show

Sources from Brilliance Auto, on the coming April Shanghai Auto Show, Brilliance will debut 4 new models including a new electric model and Brilliance FRV hatchback(Internal: A2), all 4 models will launch on in June.

One Brilliance principal told that the  new Brilliance electric car will  smaller but higher performance and lower Energy consumption than the FRV Wagon.

In other new energy car areas,  Brilliance have finished the key researches of Brilliance hybrid engines.

JAC Rui Ying(Rein) is the first and the only SUV of JAC Auto, its a full-featured city-based SUV that has both public and business travel, off-road leisure function. By the JAC principal, JAC’s B-Class SUV (BSUV) will base on Rui Ying(Rein) design and will positioned as Chery’s SUV: Chery Tiggo. JAC BSUV, the expected SUV, will launch by 2010.

Some car fans should still remember that JAC debuted its concept car  JAC Eagle on 2006 Beijing Auto Show， from the shape measurement and product positioning, the JAC concept car did had some similiar feature with JAC BSUV, does it mean that Eagle concept car will come to mass production? Not sure by now.
