New Stelato S9 Officially Revealed: Pure Electric and Range-Extended Versions Coming in November

Stelato, the high-end electric vehicle brand jointly developed by Huawei and BAIC, has officially released the first images of its updated Stelato S9. The new flagship sedan, positioned in the mid-to-large luxury segment, features several design refinements, upgraded lighting technology, and advanced intelligent driving capabilities. The model will be officially launched in November, offering both pure electric and range-extended hybrid versions.

Refined Design with a New Emblem and Lighting System

As a mid-cycle refresh, the new S9 retains the elegant silhouette and futuristic design language of the current model, while incorporating fresh visual elements. Inspired by the theme of “The Universe,” the S9 adopts a new Stellar Horizon emblem, Galaxy-inspired headlights, and a Nebula-style full-width taillight design, giving it a stronger visual identity. The signature C-shaped headlight units and light strip remain, further enhancing its recognizable front profile.

On the sides, the sedan’s streamlined roofline and clean character lines emphasize its sleek proportions. The new model also introduces redesigned alloy wheels, electronic smart side mirrors, and a new paint palette inspired by cosmic tones.

At the rear, the car showcases a full-width nebula taillight, a subtle ducktail spoiler, and a trapezoidal license plate housing, creating a cohesive and dynamic appearance. Dimensionally, the S9 measures 5160 mm long, 2005 mm wide, and 1492 mm high, with a 3050 mm wheelbase— firmly placing it in the large executive sedan category.

Cutting-Edge Smart Technology and Driving Assistance

The 2025 Stelato S9 significantly upgrades its intelligent driving hardware. It comes equipped with four LiDAR units—including one 192-line unit and three solid-state high-precision LiDAR sensors—complemented by 36 high-resolution sensors and three distributed 4D millimeter-wave radar modules.

The system runs on Huawei’s latest ADS 4.0 intelligent driving platform, delivering enhanced autonomous driving performance and proactive safety capabilities. The model also adds an exterior microphone for improved situational awareness.

Dual Powertrain Options: EV and Range-Extended Hybrid

In terms of powertrain, the Stelato S9 will be available in both pure electric and range-extended versions.

  • The pure electric model is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and powered by Huawei Digital Energy’s TZ210XYA03 electric motor, producing 227 kW of maximum output. Expected driving range exceeds 800 kilometers on a single charge.
  • The range-extended variant features Huawei’s Snow Eagle intelligent range extension system, offering a CLTC-rated range of over 1,300 kilometers, ideal for long-distance drivers.

Final Thoughts

With its updated design language, advanced sensor suite, and powerful dual powertrain options, the new Stelato S9 strengthens its position as one of China’s most technologically advanced luxury sedans. The model’s official debut in November is expected to mark another major step forward for Huawei’s intelligent vehicle ecosystem.
