The legendary Haval H6, once the best-selling SUV in China for years, has just welcomed a new family member — the Haval H6L. This latest model steps up in size and performance, officially entering the mid-size SUV category with a 4,800 mm body length, 1,895 mm width, 1,730 mm height, and a 2,810 mm wheelbase.

No longer a compact SUV, the H6L represents Haval’s push to expand its lineup and capture customers seeking more space, comfort, and power.
Design: Familiar Yet Refined
The H6L’s overall design language draws inspiration from the Xiaolong MAX (Dragon MAX) plug-in hybrid, but it introduces several distinctive tweaks suited to its gasoline powertrain. The front fascia gains a new air vent above the license plate, along with reshaped bumper corners for a bolder appearance.

A full-width light bar integrates with illuminated “HAVAL” lettering, enhancing its tech-forward aesthetic and night-time visibility.
From the side, the H6L adopts a body-colored D-pillar to create a floating roof effect, while retaining traditional door handles rather than hidden ones. Standard models come with 18-inch multi-spoke wheels, while 19-inch sport alloys are available on higher trims.
At the rear, the H6L ditches the through-type taillights found on the Xiaolong MAX in favor of split-style LED units, now bearing a GWM (Great Wall Motor) badge.
Interior: Comfort and Technology Combined
Inside, the H6L offers a refined and spacious cabin with three interior color themes: Autumn Beige, Mystic Black, and Canyon Brown.

A 14.6-inch central touchscreen, HUD head-up display, 64-color ambient lighting, and advanced voice control system deliver a high-tech driving experience.
Comfort features include heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, 8-way electric driver’s seat adjustment with 4-way lumbar support, rear seat heating, and a 27°/32° adjustable seatback angle.
Other premium touches include a heated steering wheel, dual-layer acoustic glass, and a 10-speaker surround audio system — all designed to elevate ride comfort and quietness.
Utility: Space and Practicality
The H6L is equipped with 28 smart storage compartments throughout the cabin, along with one-touch folding rear seats, allowing flexible cargo space for families and travelers alike.

Powertrain: Pure Gasoline, Dual Options

Under the hood, the H6L offers two powertrain choices:
- 1.5T engine producing 135 kW (181 hp) and 275 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (7DCT). Combined fuel consumption is rated at 7.13 L/100 km.
- 2.0T engine delivering 175 kW (235 hp) and strong acceleration, matched with a 9-speed DCT (9DCT) transmission. The 0–100 km/h sprint is expected to take under 8 seconds, with a top speed of 215 km/h.
This power setup ensures a balance between performance and fuel efficiency, keeping the H6L competitive in its segment.
Market Positioning and Outlook
Within Haval’s lineup, the H6L will sit alongside the H6 Classic, H6 National Trend Edition, and the New-Gen H6, further diversifying the H6 family.
Analysts believe the launch of the H6L is a strategic move by Haval to revitalize the H6 series and strengthen its foothold in the competitive gasoline SUV market.
Final pricing, trim breakdowns, and detailed configuration lists are expected to be announced soon. If Haval maintains its trademark value-for-money strategy, the new H6L could well become one of the most attractive mid-size SUVs for Chinese families in 2025.
