FAW Toyota recalls some bZ3 cars: there are safety hazards in the doors, a total of 12,205 vehicles

According to the announcement of the State Administration for Market Regulation, FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the “Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products” and the “Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Administration of the Recall of Defective Automobile Products”. Beginning July 27, 2023, a total of 12,205 bZ3 vehicles produced between March 13, 2023 and July 5, 2023 will be recalled.

Due to the shape and material design of the rear door outer handle fork within the scope of this recall, there is a gap when the outer door handle and door lock parts cooperate with each other. In high-temperature and high-humidity environments, the sliding fork and the door lock lever may not slide smoothly, and the door lock lever may not return to its original position. In extreme cases, the rear doors are always locked or unlocked, posing safety hazards.

FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. will replace the improved rear door outer handle fork free of charge for the vehicles within the recall range, and add gaskets at the same time to eliminate potential safety hazards.

We learned from the official announcement that FAW Toyota has also put forward emergency measures, suggesting that users should stop using the vehicle before the recall repair starts, and contact the nearest FAW Toyota dealership for inspection and repair in time after the recall repair begins.
